What Beacon YouTube Automation Is

Beacon YouTube Automation is an internal content-management and publishing automation platform operated by Beacon Media Group, Inc. It provides the company's authorized content operations teams with a controlled way to connect approved YouTube accounts and channels and run approved automation workflows through Google's OAuth system and the YouTube Data API.

Beacon YouTube Automation is currently used for authorized internal content operations and approved account connections. It is not currently offered as a general public service, and access is limited to accounts and channels explicitly authorized by their owners or managers.

What It Can Do

When authorized, Beacon YouTube Automation can interact with YouTube through Google's OAuth and the YouTube Data API to support approved business workflows. Depending on the permissions granted, it can:

  • Upload authorized videos (where scope is granted)
  • Retrieve channel and video metadata for approved channels
  • Manage authorized video metadata
  • Support content scheduling and publishing workflows
  • Manage approved engagement workflows where enabled
  • Maintain internal publishing records and prevent duplicate uploads

How Google Authorization Works

Beacon YouTube Automation uses Google's OAuth authorization system to connect to authorized YouTube accounts.

  • The application uses Google's OAuth authorization system.
  • Beacon YouTube Automation does not request users' Google passwords.
  • Access is granted directly through Google.
  • Only Google accounts and channels explicitly authorized by their owners or managers are accessed.
  • Permissions are limited to the OAuth scopes granted during authorization.
  • Access can be revoked through the user's Google Account security/connected-app settings.
